meet enday (not related to ondoy), my mum:
you can call her wendy, wendeline (as in fall in line), wen (kailan?), wends (mga hangin?).
it’s not her birthday and it’s definitely not mother’s day. I just thought I’d share this pretty layout I did of the one person who can read me, and probably my thoughts (gasp!) even from a mile away.
hug your mom today. she probably misses your bear hugs already.
have a fruitful weekend, peeps!

so you wanna be an idol, ey?
not that idol, this idol! and I’m gonna be at the finals!
what started as a “wala lang, sali lang ako” sentiment a couple of months ago, turned out to be a week-in, week-out commitment to perform, execute and deliver. a form of medulla oblongata torture that has stricter-than-your-local-librarian criteria and deadlines! I knew this was to be the case, as I have mentioned it here already. but I guess nothing really prepares you for competitions like this. you only have your sheer determination to pull you through.
ten of us. and from where I am positioned, the other nine creative warm bodies I see collectively screams one thing clear: it’ll be a tough competition. and as with the past scrapfests I have attended, when I was just a mere attendee trying to dip my feet on some on-the-spot challenges… I will try to just enjoy the dizzying ride, make a layout (uhm, er, or something?!) that makes me happy, and ingest the fun in the atmosphere. if tension precipitates during the competition, I will try to tune out. because I WILL have fun. so winning the title, if at all, is just icing on my cake. I already ate the whole shebang, noh. okay na yun!
on that note, I shall leave you with the line up of layouts/project I did that helped me be one of the last [wo]men standing:
I am one happy scrapper
see you at the makati parks and gardens, august 29th!
31 July 09
hello. it’s me. still.
I won’t make up any excuses anymore. I know most of you are looking forward to the latest issue of random wednesday every week. but alas, I wasn’t able to deliver those recently. it’s been really busy in the homefront, and 24hrs seemed like a blur to me in the last couple of weeks. honestly, I missed researching for juicy stuff to share with you every wednesday, and there are some “chizmaks” I had to forego altogether because I didn’t want to shortchange you even more.
anyways, my SIL (sis-in-law) ate mae, and her young family flew out to canada last wednesday. they are now officially migrants of this country and are slowly settling in. dear and I are just too happy to know they arrived safe in vancouver before finally landing in their destination in manitoba. it was hard to see them leave, I think my eyebags grew 10 inches wide because of too much bawling. I love my SIL, she’s like the real sister I never had. we’ll sorely miss them, especially the two little girls, jaibel and marge thank God for the internet, chikka, facebook, twitter and skype. missing them will be a little manageable, I guess.
okay, fess up.
here’s my SM idol09 round 5 entry. the challenge this week is to do a minibook with a minimum of 3 ATCs! I mentioned in my last post that I am not a minibook kind of person. but I thank the high heavens for letting me survive this one:
and survive I did. I made it to round 6! we’re nearing the homestretch! although I’m not really sure how further away I will go. bahala na si the flash (sawa na ako kay batman, eh)
see the girls with “sanib” who created some really gorgeous minis here as well.
oh yeah, I am also the pick of the week for round 3. announcement is here *kilig*
HAPPY WEEKEND, PEEPS!
24 July 09
too many things going on at the same time. personal, professional and in between. too many friends and family from across the globe coming in and out of the country for a vacay. busy. hilo na. deadlines to beat. endless.
sorry about that.
anyhoo, just wanted to share something that happened last weekend. due to tffee’s request, I searched the net and printed selena’s song “dreaming of you” (my niece is just 6years old but she wanted this song). so I showed it to her and I posted it on the fridge door using magnets, arranged two chairs for myself and her and we started singing duet. my puppy bailey was just there. tffee and I started to sing. and when we got to the song’s chorus, bailey stared to wail!
then we stopped and started singing again. same thing happened when we got to the chorus – bailey is indeed singing with us! ahww. my puppy’s a true diva
anyways, here’s my SM idol09 round 4 entry. the challenge this time is to alter one patterned paper and one other embellie:
I almost did not make it to the deadline because I did some boo-boos. one of which is the photo (ang labo ng shot!). but all’s well now. I even made it to round 5! but this particular challenge is my waterloo. I don’t like doing minis! paktay na.
see the entirety of what I did here, and the smashing creations of my co-challengers here.
weekend! busy pa rin in the next X number of days. whew.
17 July 09
here’ my entry for SM idol09 round 3. the challenge this time was to use white space + minimum of 8 photos.
huwaaatt?! white space + minimum of 8 photos? okay, I am repeating myself. I know it’s going to be a bit difficult with my layout size however, I managed to come up with this:
and I made it to round 4! wahoo…
and round 4 proves to be a hard one too (huhuhuhu…)
see the details of my entry here and lots more right about here.
scrap garage sale tomorrow at the valle verde I clubhouse!
I’m a seller see you there!
10 July 09
the office pantry, at 10:00am today. aircon’s too cold. no, make that waaay too cold!
scene I: me pouring brewed coffee into my mug. enter manong guard.
scene II: (pours cold water into his bottle) and he sings:
LA LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA LA LA
LA LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA LA LA, LAAAA-MIG…
bongga si manong!
here’s the layout I submitted for SM idol09 round 2. the challenge was all about the 3Rs: reuse, reduce & recycle.
in my quest to save mother earth (ok, ok, I’ll stop na), I only used very meager materials: 1 cardstock, 1 patterned paper, 1 embellishment [used 2 ways], and 1 re-purposed scrapbooking material (i.e. packaging, etc):
… and I made it to round 3! yay
see the details of my entry here and all the other amazing entries on this round here. pinay creativity overload! woohoo!
studio azul’s scrap buffet tomorrow!
HAPPY WEEKEND, PEEPS!
19 June 09
firstly, I would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes for myself and dear. our wedding anniversary was spent quietly amidst the non-stop rains up-south. but it’s nonetheless amazing when it dawned on us that we’ve been together a loooong time. woo-hoo.
secondly, here are several layouts I would like to share with you guys! I haven’t been religiously posting new layouts every friday, as I have planned sorry abou that. sleep/siesta gets in the way… and yeah, taking care of bailey, the stinky puppy. so okay, on to business.
I made two layouts in the attempt to heed the DT call of dreamgirls. using the promt “I can dream”. I finished not one, but two layouts! unfortunately I OVERSLEPT and eventually lost the day’s natural light. I also discovered I don’t have my camera’s batteries (tim, my nephew borrowed it) with me. it’s a lame excuse, I know. but that’s the truth.
finished the first 2 LOs during our “scrap adobo day” (more about that later).
so anyways, the new DT line-up is great! I especially love piradee. she’s one awesome scrapper.
and this one’s for mosh posh. I hope I get lucky
HAVE AN AWESOME WEEKEND, PEEPS!
5 June 09
sus. amazing. I wonder if the camera person’s face is wet na?
22 May 09
sigh. I was able to see most, if not all the latest installments of the ”KHOronicles”. I pity those girls. ang dapat sa mga ganyang lalaki ay ipakagat sa mga hantik ng walang humpay. tapos patakan ng kalamansi lahat ng kagat sa kanya. and I am being nice here.
imagine the stigma that those girls will have to live with kahit lola na sila. tama ba naman yun? I hope justice will be served accordingly.
on a lighter note, remember this post? here’s an ode to that sentiment via a layout:
the clan’s off to antipolo to fulfill a yearly panata. kasuy land, here I come! woohoo!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
15 May 09
